Famous actor, Will Smith celebrated Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti on Instagram. The famous actor shared a throwback picture of himself, his wife, Jada Pinkett with another black power couple, Jay-Z and Beyonce, which was taken in 2010 during a play produced to celebrate the life of the Afrobeat legend.
In his post, Will Smith stated that on May 20, 2010, himself, his wife and his friends, produced a play on Broadway and named it after the legendary Afrobeat figure, FELA. The actor also added that they got 11 Tony Awards nominations for the play. He went on to encourage people to read about FELA, describing Fela’s life as deep.
